Once more - the plague
Joanna Van Tricht was born in Pamel on January 3 1626. She had one child from her first marriage but we do not know what became of the child. She remarried Joannes Heymans in Pamel on July 11 1660. Joannes was born on July 15 1625.
But disaster struck : their only child died on October 10 1668 in Pamel. Its father died two days later on October 12 1668 of the plague ; and the plague killed Joanna one day later, on October 13 1668. The records do not inform us about the sex and age of the child, and we do not know its name ; but it is evident that it died of the plague too.
As I wrote before, the plague decimated the Pamel population in 1668 ...

Carolus Van Tricht was born in Pamel, probably in the Withuis. He was number eight out of ten children of Adrianus (Pamel 1660 - 1722) and Elisabeth Sterckx (Pamel 1658 - 1714). I may have given another number before, but I found an error in my list of their children.
Carolus married Josina (also called Susanna) Van Londerzele (born ca 1694 - Pamel 1772) in Liedekerke in 1723 and they had eight children. The eldest was my ancestor Catharina Susanna Van Tricht (Pamel 1725 - 1799).

Adrianus Van Tricht, later farmer and publican, was born in Pamel, a son of Judocus (Pamel 1627 - 1678) and Gerarda Lambeen (Burst 1629 - Pamel ?). In 1680 he married Elisabeth Sterckx, inn keeper (Pamel 1658 - 1714).
They had ten children. Adrianus farmed Withuis, the central farm on the Kwinkeleer, and was a meisenier and a relatively well to do man : he employed a maid and a servant.
I descend from their child number eight, Carolus (Pamel 1696 - 1775) who took over the farm with one of his brothers in law and to all practical purposes ran it into the ground. Times were extremely hard then. Carolus married Jozina Van Londerzele (born ca 1694 - Pamel 1772) in Liedekerke in 1723. They had eight children. It appears probable that Carolus and Jozina didn't die on their farm - they probably already had been forced to move.
Their eldest daughter Catharina Susanna Van Tricht (Pamel 1725 - 1799) married Nicolaes Sterckx (Pamel 1714 - 1703) ; and their eldest daughter Elisabeth Sterckx (Pamel 1754 - Okegem 1799) married Josephus called Judocus Neukermans (Okegem 1736 - 1814), residing on the Rattenberg (now Leopoldstraat) in Okegem, where Neukermansen have lived from the 18th to the 20th century.

Maria Cobbaert died in Pamel where she had married Joannes Sterckx in 1644.
Elisabeth Sterckx (Pamel 1658 - 1714) was the fifth of their six children. She married Adrianus Van Tricht, innkeeper (Pamel1660 - 1722).
Adrianus was a son of Judocus (Pamel 1627 - 1678) and Gerarda Lambeens, born in Burst in 1629, whom we just met in the post "May 6 1639". Elisabeth and Adrianus had 10 children.
Carolus (Pamel 1696 - 1775) was number eight. In 1723 he married Josina (also Susanna) Van Londerzele (ca 1694 - Pamel 1772) in Liedekerke. They had eight children.
Catharina Suzanna Van Tricht was the eldest (Pamel 1725 - 1799). She married Nicolaes Sterckx (Pamel 1714 - 1803). Nicolaes Sterckx was a nephew of Elisabeth Sterckx forementioned. His father Cornelius, who died in Pamel in 1719, was a brother of Elisabeth. But Nicolaes never knew Elisabeth : she died in the year in which he was born.
Catharina Suzanna and Nicolaes had eight children too. Elisabeth Sterck (Pamel 1754 - Okegem 1799) was the eldest.
In 1778, she married Joannes, called Josephus Neukermans (Okegem 1736 - 1814), with whom she had ten children. Adrianus Neukermans (Okegem 1788 - 1860) , my great-great-grandfather, was number five.

May 9 1639
On that date, Joanna died in Pamel. Her family name has not been recorded but may have been Sterckx. She married Joannes Van Tricht, whom we have met before : see the post "December 9 1623".
The Van Tricht family arrived in Pamel after the wars of religion and has been relatively well documented in the later generations, but some confusion in the earlier generations remains. Joannes Van Tricht died in Pamel in 1623.
The son of Joannes and Joanna, Renerius, died in Pamel in 1641. He married Maria Felix, who died in 1622, and then Maria Anna Elisabeth Van Snick, who died in Pamel in 1642. According to the records, Renerius had one son with Maria Felix and 4 daughters with Maria Anna Elisabeth Van Snick.
Up to now, I had Judocus Van Tricht (Pamel 1627 - 1678), farmer of the Withuis on the Kwinkeleer who married to Gerarda Lambeen, as their son and an ancestor of mine.
Judocus is an ancestor of mine, but his parents apparently were not Renerius and Maria Felix, but Henricus Remigius (Bartholomeus) Van Tricht and Margareta Gillis (who died in Pamel in 1668). Not much more is written about Henricus Remigius in the parish registers, but he must have been a contemporary of Renerius.
At least, that's what I read in the new "Gezinsreconstructie gemeente Pamel 1622 - 1799" by Rita Van Isveldt, who also was one of my earlier sources. Probably, the confusion will never be cleared up completely, as the parish registers clearly have some "holes" in them.
The line from Judocus and Gerarda has been documented in "December 2 1641" and other posts.
As a complement to this post, the earliest Van Tricht's mentioned in the parish registers were :
the forementioned Joannes, who died in 1623 ;
another Joannes, who died in 1632 ;
Renerius, only known child of Joannes, who died in 1641 ;
a Remigius, who died in 1665 and who may well have been "our" Henricus Remigius ;
"our" Henricus Remigius for whom no dates are given, but whose wife died in 1668.
The solution to the confusion may be found - if a solution there is - in other archived documents (staten van goed ? or other documents) or in the parish records of neighboring villages.

Elisabeth Sterckx was born in Pamel. She was the first of five children of Nicolaus (Pamel 1714 - 1803) and of Catharina Suzanna Van Tricht (Pamel 1725 - 1799).
In 1778 she married Josephus, named Judocus Neukermans (Okegem 1736 - 1814) with whom she had seven children, of which Adrianus (Okegem 1788 - 1860) was the fifth.
After Elisabeth's death, Judocus remarried and had another three children with his second spouse.
The line from Adrianus has been described before : see the post "March 27 1833" and others.

Judocus Van Tricht was born in Pamel. He was a son of Renerius (Pamel ca 1590 - 1641) and - probably - Maria Felix, who died in Pamel in 1622. Renerius apparently married twice, but I have three names for two possible spouses, i.e. I have contradictory sources.

Judocus Van Tricht died in Pamel. He had been born in Pamel on April 3 1627 in a well known line of farmers (pachters). He married Gerarda Lambeen (there are a lot of variations for her name) who was the daughter of an alderman in Burst, where she she was born in 1629.
They had five children I know of. The line has been described in "December 2 1641" and in other posts.

Nicolaus Sterckx, who lived a long life, died in Pamel where he had been born on August 22 1714. He was married to Catharina Suzanna Van Tricht (Pamel 1725 - 1799).
They had five children : the eldest was Elisabeth Sterckx (Pamel 1754 - Okegem 1799). In 1778 she became the first wife of Josephus called Judocus Neukermans (Okegem 1736 - 1814) with whom she had seven children. After her death, Josephus married Maria Carolina Appelmans (Gooik ca 1769 - Okegem 1819) with whom he had another three children.
It is interesting to note that Josephus was almost 42 years old when he married for the first time, and almost 64 when he married for the second time ... He himself was the tenth of twelve children.
Adrianus Neukermans (Okegem 1788 - 1860) was the fifth child of Josephus and Elisabeth. He married Anna Catharina De Doncker (Pamel 1791 - Okegem 1860). Amandus was the fourth of their six children, and the father of my great-grandfather Hermilianus Neukermans (Okegem 1855 - 1932).

Carolus Van Tricht passed away in Pamel where he had been born on June 7 1696. He became a meisenier in 1751. His wife Josina Van Londerzele passed away in 1772.
They had eight children, but local archives show that they must have fallen on hard times. The surface he and his brother in law rented from the Ninove abbey fell significantly during his lifetime, he had significant debts (he could not pay the rent for his farm) and chances are he did not even live in the Withuis any more when he died.
Catharina Suzanna Van Tricht (Pamel 1725 - 1788) is the only child for which additional date can be found. She had five children. December 2 1641
Renerius Van Tricht died in Pamel. He had been born ca 1590. He is one of the figures for which I have very confusing data, including the name of his spouse(s).
His son Judocus lived in Pamel from 1627 to 1678. His mother was either Maria Felix or Margriet Gilleijns, named Gillisjans. According to one of my sources his brother Gillis was the father of the family branch in Lennik, and another brother Jan started the branch in Strijtem.
Adrianus (Pamel 1660 - 1722), a son of Judocus, was the father of Carolus (Pamel 1696 - 1775).
Adrianus became a meisenier in 1700, Carolus in 1751.
Carolus was the father of Catharina Suzanna (Pamel 1725 - 1799), the mother of Elisabeth Sterckx (Pamel 1754 - Okegem 1799) who married Josephus bijgenaamd Judocus Neukermans (Okegem 1736 - 1814).
They had seven children : my great-great-grandfather Amandus (Okegem 1824 - 1857) was the fifth.
I still wonder where the name Amandus came from (I haven't seen the baptismal records for nineteenth century Okegem, but I know of no one else in the family at that time with that name - and if Amandus appears "strange", what about the name of his son Hermilianus, my great-grandfather ?

Elisabeth Sterckx died in Pamel on September 14 1714, where she had been born on November 11 1658 and where she married Adrianus Van Tricht (Pamel 1660 - 1722) in 1680. Adrianus was a "meisenier". They had ten children en lived on the Kwinkeleer. They must have been relatively well to do as they had a maid and a servant.
Their youngest son Carolus, a meisenier like his father, lived in Pamel from 1696 to 1775 but went through rough times as apparently he lost the Withuis, property of Ninove abbey, to other tenants before 1749.
His daughter Catharina Suzanna Van Tricht (Pamel 1725 - 1799) married Nicolaes Sterckx (Pamel 1714 - 1803). I haven't yet found a blood link between Nicolaes Sterckx and the forementioned Elisabeth Sterckx. But there was a family link between Catharina and Nicolaes because they needed a dispensation to get married.
Catharina and Nicolaes had a daughter named Elisabeth Sterckx (Pamel 1714 - Okegem 1803).

On that day, Nicolaus Sterckx was born on Kriebrug in Pamel. He married a distant relative Catharina Suzanna Van Tricht (Pamel 1725 - 1799), who proved "meisenier-ship" in 1767. Nicolaus died in Pamel on February 9 1803.
