June 24 1731

Guillelmus Van Overstraeten, born in St Kwintens Lennik in 1659, died on that day in Ste Katharina Lombeek.

He was married to Anna Sneppe, who was born in Ste Katharina Lombeek on May 28 1663 - see the post on that date for more information on the family.

They had four children I know of. I descend from their daughter Elisabeth Van Overstraeten ( Ste Katharina Lombeek 1692 - Pamel 1741). She married three times. Jer third husband and my ancestor Maximiliaan Van Cauwelaert, survived het by less than half a year.

And tomorrow is the anniversary of her death on June 25 1741.

June 11 1638

Guillelmus Walckiers died in Pamel. He was the husband of Catharina Van Overstraeten, who died there in 1649.

See the post : "April 13 1649".

May 28 1663

Anna Sneppe was born in Ste Katharina Lombeek. According to one source, she may have been a daughter to Anthoon who died in 1668 and to Catharina De Raeymaecker, but I have reasons to doubt that.

Anna married Guillelmus Van Overstraeten (St Kwintens Lennik 1659 - Ste Katharina Lombeek 1731) and they had a daughter Elisabeth Van Overstraeten (Ste Katharina Lombeek 1692 - Pamel 1741). She married three times.

In 1713 she married Adrianus De Vidts (Pamel 1688 - 1724) with whom she had six children. In 1725 she married Maximiliaen Van Cauwelaert (born in Onze Lieve Vrouw Lombeek and who died in Pamel in 1741) with whom she had another six children.

Their daughter Catharina Theresia Van Cauwelaert (Pamel 1729 - 1805) first married Judocus De Vidts (Pamel 1703 - 1750) with whom she had two children. Then she married Joannes Josephus Kestens with whom she had thirteen children.

I descend from Catharina's oldest child Petrus Joannes De Vidts (Pamel 1749 - 1793) who had ten children wit Carolina Van der Straeten (Ternat ca 1753 - Pamel 1801). This couple lived and died in the Piezelstraat.

Their sixth child was Joannes Franciscus (Pamel 1784 - 18369) who married Maria Elisabeth Van Lierde (Pamel 1790 - 1838). They had eight children.

As stated oftentimes before, Joannes De Vidts (Pamel 1811 - 1881), my maternal great-great-grandfather and my paternal great-great-great-grandfather, was their second child.

May 12 1728

Leonardus (Lenaert) Van Cauwelaert, who had been born ca 1650, died in Sint Kwintens Lennik. He was married to Anna Van Laethem (ca 1650 - Sint Kwintens Lennik 1728).

Maximiliaan Van Cauwelaert was one of their six children. He was born in Onze Lieve Vrouw Lombeek and died in Pamel, Ledebergplaats, in 1741. He was the third husband of Elisabeth Van Overstraeten (Sinte Katharina Lombeek 1692 - Pamel 1741). She had no children that I know of with her first husband , had six children with her second husband, of another De Vidts branch, and six with Maximiliaan.

One of her daughters with Maximiliaan was Catharina Theresia Van Cauwelaert (Pamel 1729 - 1805) who married Adrianus De Vidts (Pamel 1703 - 1750) with whom she had two children. She had another 13 children with her second husband Joannes Josephus Kestens (Pamel 1718 - 1778).

The eldest of her fifteen children was Petrus Joannes De Vidts (Pamel 1749 - 1793), the grandfather of Joannes De Vidts (Pamel 1811 - 1881), an ancestor of my mother and of my father, as I have written several times before.

April 13 1649

Catharina Van Overstraeten, daughter of Arnoldus and Catharina Piret, died in Pamel. She was married to Guillielmus Walckiers (who was born in Pamel and died there in 1638).

They had five children. Barbara Walckiers, who died in Pamel in 1670, married Marcus Sr Schandevijl in Pamel in 1645. Marcus, who may have come from Outer, was killed (murdered) by soldiers in Ledeberg in 1666.

Their daughter Maria Schandevijl (Pamel 1655 - 1734) was the mother of Catharina Huylenbroeck (Pamel ca 1685 - 1751), whom we just remembered. See the post : "April 12 1699".

February 14 1729

Catharina Theresia was born in Pamel, the third child of Maximiliaan Van Cauwelaert (born in Onze Lieve Vrouw Lombeek and who died in Pamel 1741) and Elisabeth Van Overstraeten (Sint Katharina Lombeek 1692 - Pamel 1741).

Catharina Theresia had two children with her first husband Judocus De Vidts (Pamel 1703 - 1750) and - if my sources are correct - thirteen with her second husband Joannes Josephus Kestens (Pamel 1719 - 1778).

Catharina Theresia and her first husband were meiseniers. Catharina died in Pamel on November 29 1805.

I descend from their eldest son Petrus Joannes De Vidts (Pamel 1749 - 1793).
See the post : " November 29 1805".

January 20 1552

Cornelia Van Overstraeten, who had been born in Ste Gertrudis Pede died in St Martens Lennik.
In 1534, she married Jan Pipenpoy, lord of Bossuyt and alderman of Lennik, who died in 1553. The lived in hof Ten Berg in Ste Gertrudis Pede and are buried in the church of St Martens Lennik, in front of the altar of St Anthony. They had 13 children.

Their son Jan Pipenpoy married Elisabeth Goossens and died in 1615 in St Martens Lennik. Like his father he was lord of Bossuyt and alderman of Lennik (in 1598 and 1601), and lived in hof Ten Berg. They are buried in the same church. They had six or seven children.

Jan and Elisabeth had a daughter Maria Pipenpoy, who married Joannes Van Cutsem. Joannes was born ca 1580. They lived in hof te Opcureghem and Joannes was alderman of Anderlecht in 1625. In 1634 they are mentioned as farmers (pachters) of hof te Budingen in Halle. In his later years Joannes was also reported as alderman of Lennik.

Their son Zeger Van Cutsem, (heer van Bossuyt ??) was born in St Martens Lennik ca 1620 and died in St Kwintens Lennik in 1681. He married Barbara Walravens (St Pieters Leeuw 1623 - St Kwintens Lennik 1699).

They had a daughter Barbara Van Cutsem, who was born in St Martens Lennik and married Christianus Galmaert (Gooik 1654 - 1718) in 1680.

Michael Galmaert (1690 - Gooik 1786) was one of their children. He became a meisenier in 1727. He married Maria Theresia Walravens (Gooik 1700 - 1750) and they had nine children.

Barbara Galmaert born in Gooik in 1720 was the eldest. She married Carolus Covens, born in Malderen, who died in Pamel in 1770.

The line to me has been described before : see "November 25 1770".

January 6 1692

Elisabeth Van Overstraeten was born in Sinte Katharina Lombeek. She was a daughter of Guillelmus (St Kwintens Lennik 1659 - Ste Katharina Lombeek 1731) and of Anna Sneppe, born in Ste Katharina Lombeek in 1663.

Elisabeth married two or three times. For the follow up see : "November 24 1741".

November 24 1741

Maximilaan Van Cauwelaert, born in Onze Lieve Vrouw Lombeek, died in Pamel on November 24 1741. He married Elisabeth Van Overstraeten (Sint Katharina Lombeek 1692 - Pamel 1741). They lived on the Ledeberg in Pamel. Maximiliaan became a meisenier in 1715.

Elisabeth married three times : Maximiliaan was her third husband with whom she had six children. She had six children with her second husband Adrianus De Vidts (Pamel 1688 - 1724) too. Adrianus was a meisenier from the second of the De Vidts families in Pamel.

Catharina Theresia (Pamel 1729 - 1805) was the third child of Elisabeth and Maximiliaan. She was the only (reported) meisenier among their children. She had two children with her first husband Judocus De Vidts (Pamel 1703 - 1750), meisenier in 1715, and thirteen with her second husband Joannes Josephus Kestens (Pamel 1719 - 1778).

Her son Petrus Joannes De Vidts (Pamel 1749 - 1793) was the father of Joannes Franciscus (Pamel 1784 - 1839) and the grandfather of Joannes (Pamel 1811 - 1881), whom we have met oftentimes before, including on "August 27 1881".

I repeat that Joannes was the father of Antonia, born in Pamel in 1840, my great-great-grandmother on my father's side and of Felix (Pamel 1853 - 1940), my great-grandfather on my mother's side.
