Pardaens

My ancestor Judocus Pardaens (Paridaens) lived in Pamel from March 1 1627 to March 10 1693. He married Catharina Wijns (Weyns ?), sometimes called Mertens. Catharina died in Pamel on December 9 1697.

They are reported to have had seven children :

their eldest child, Petrus, lived in Pamel from September 15 1655 to November 29 1728. He married Catharina Van Opdenbosch in 1678 and Gerardina Clement in 1695. Petrus and Gerardina are ancestors of mine.

The youngest child, Maria, also survived (Pamel 1671 - 1747) and married.

The other children died young :

-- Catharina was born in 1657 and died eleven years later from the plague.

-- Joanna was born in 1660 and died nine years later from the plague, some seven months after Catharina.

-- There was another Catharina. It was quite common that two children in one household had the same christian name, but generally the second child only got that name when it was born after the first one had died. According to our source, the second Catharina was born in 1663 - while the first one was still alive. The second Catharina is reported to have died in 1668 ; no cause of death was given. She died four months before the first one ... Has there been some confusion about dates and was there only one Catharina in the household ; or was one of them a daughter of another couple alltogether? In those days of pestilence, such an error could be made quite easily ...

-- And then there were twins, born late in February 1670. Leonardus lived for just over a week ; Egidius died two days later. In those days, the outlook for the survival of twins was grim.

Good old times, indeed ...

March 10 1693

Judocus Paridaens died in Pamel where he had been born on February 1 1627. See the post for that date.

February 7 1642

Adrianus Van de Perre, born in Haaltert, died in Okegem where he was buried one day later, on February 8 1642. In 1627 he had married Margaretha Cammaerts, who died in Okegem in 1604.

Their son Adrianus, who died in Okegem in 1693, married Christina Gansemans, who expired in Okegem in 1715.

Laurentius Van de Perre (Okegem 1673 - died after 1730), a son of Adrianus and Christina, married Catharina Van Geet, born in Iddergem, and who died in Okegem in 1727.

Laurentius and Catharina had a son Joannes (Okegem 1706 - 1762) who married Magdalena Paridaens (Pamel 1702 - 1785). We remembered her a couple of days ago.

I descend from two children of Joannes and Magdalena :

Catharina (Okegem 1735 - 1812)

Jacobus Antonius (Okegem 1740 - 1712).

Magdalena Paridaens was born in Pamel. I mentioned her a couple of days ago in "February 1 1627".

Judocus Paridaens was born in Pamel. He was one of the seven children of Martinus Paridaens (+ Pamel 1667) and Catharina Cools.

Ca 1654, Judocus married Catharina Wijns (+ Pamel 1697). They had seven children too : their son Petrus Paridaens (Pamel 1655 - 1728) and his second wife Gerardina Clement (+ Pamel 1710) had a daughter Magdalena (Pamel 1702 - Okegem after 1785).

In 1728, Magdalena married Joannes Van de Perre (Okegem 1706 - 1762). They had 10 children.

I descend from two of them :

-- Catharina Van de Perre (Okegem 1735 - 1812), who married Petrus De Schepper (Okegem 1736 - 1805) ;

-- Jacobus Antonius (Okegem 1740 - 1812) and his much younger second wife Joanne Maria Wellekens (Okegem 1780 - 1839).

December 9 1697

Catharina Wijns died in Pamel. She was the spouse of Judocus Paridaens (Pamel 1627 - 1693).

Petrus Paridaens (Pamel 1655 - 1728) was their son. He was the father of Magdalena Paridaens born in Pamel in 1702 and who died probably in Okegem before 1785.

Magdalena married Joannes Van de Perre (Okegem 1706 - 1762), and we come in known territory.

I descend in various ways from two of their children : Catharina Van de Perre (Okegem 1735 - 1812) and Jacobus Antonius Van de Perre (Okegem 1740 - 1812).

November 29 1728

Petrus Paridaens died in Pamel on November 29 1728.

September 15 1655

On that date Petrus Paridaens was born in Pamel where he died on November 29 1728. He married his second wife, Gerarda Clement, in 1695. Gerarda died in 1710.

Their daughter Magdalena Paridaens was born in Pamel in 1702 and died before 1785. She married Joannes Van de Perre (Okegem 1706 -1762).

I descend from two of their children :

-- Catharina Van de Perre (Okegem 1732 -1812) was the mother of Alexandrina De Schepper (Okegem 1775 - 1853). Alexandrina' daughter Alexandrina Van der Speeten (Okegem 1795 - 1831) was the mother of Catharina Asselman (Okegem 1823 - 1892), the mother of my great-grandfather Hermilianus Neukermans (Okegem 1855 - 1932).

-- Jacobus Antonius Van der Speeten (Okegem 1740 - 1812) was the father of Joannes (Okegem 1801 - 1875). Joannes had a daughter Joanna Catharina (Okegem 1838 - 1914) who was the mother of Clementina Broeckaert (Okegem 1858 - 1939).

Hermilianus and Clementina married and were the parents of my maternal grandfather.
