Catharina Van Duest died in Pamel on August 1 1635. See the post for that date. She was the spouse of Nicasius De Beer who had preceded her in death on Januari 20 1635.
The very early parish records of Pamel registered two children :
-- Joanna De Beer, who died in 1673 in Pamel (Keer-Kwinkeleer) and who married Pashasius De Vidts in 1622. This couple is among my ancestors ;
-- Petrus De Beer, who died in Pamel in 1666. He married Anna De Bal and they had one (recorded) child.
There has been no sign of other Van Duest's - or Van Diest's for that matter - in the parish records of Pamel, and the De Beer's seem to have disappeared from the Pamel records before the end of the 17th century.

Meiseniers ... again
For the earliest generations of the De Vidts family in Pamel, the church registers leave us in the "mist of history". Some genealogists have tried to extend the line one or two generations farther back in time, but not always successfully or convincingly.
An alternate source, typical for the region, is the list of meiseniers.
The first De Vidts to become a meisenier was a Catherijne De Vidts, daughter of Rombouts. She did so in 1566 - no location was given.
The first Jan De Vidts appears in July 1596 : Jan (Antwerp) and Nicolaes (Brussels), sons of Coenraets and Cathelijne Reymers. There are some other meiseniers De Vidts who originated in the region of Brussels in those early times.
The first De Vidts meisenier of whom we know he lived in Pamel is Nicasius, son of Posschier en Joanna De Beer (Pamel) in 1656. From then on, almost all the family members - or rather name bearers - who became meiseniers were located in Pamel and its wider region. Posschier and Joanna were direct ancestors of mine. Nicasius (Pamel 1624 - 1677) was their eldest son. Their second son, Judocus - Joos (Pamel 1627 - 1694), from whom I descend, became a meisenier in 1669.

Remark : most of the De Vidts name bearers, who live in Belgium at the present time, retrace their origin to the two (most probably) related families who lived in Pamel in the late 16th century.

Joannes De Vidts, born in Pamel ca 1560 may have died there on June 23 1629 (the most recent publications do not give a date any more). He was a carpenter and, according to some sources, became a meisenier, but he is not listed as such. He married Catharina Lauwerijs. The marriage of the couple and their children are not listed in Gezinsreconstructie gemeente Pamel 1622 - 1799, but the couple itself is mentioned once or twice.
Their son Paschasius (Passchier) married Joanna De Beer in Pamel in 1622. He died in Pamel Keer/Kwinkeleer October 22 1656. They probably had seven children.

Judocus married Maria Van der Kelen in 1650, and they had 10 children, of whom about one in three died young. Petrus De Vidts (Pamel 1655 - 1726) was number four and a meisenier like his father. He was an alderman (schepen) of Pamel.
Petrus married twice and had three children with his first spouse (twice a widow) and three with his second wife Catharina Van Nieuwenhove (Pamel 1663 - 1743).
His youngest child was Judocus (Pamel 1703 - 1750) who was the first husband of Catharina Theresia Van Cauwelaert "pachteres" (Pamel 1729 - 1805). They had two children, but Catharina had another thirteen kids with her second husband, Joannes Josephus Kestens (Pamel 1719 - 1778). Judocus too was a meisenier.
