Joannes De Vidts, born in Pamel ca 1560 may have died there on June 23 1629 (the most recent publications do not give a date any more). He was a carpenter and, according to some sources, became a meisenier, but he is not listed as such. He married Catharina Lauwerijs. The marriage of the couple and their children are not listed in Gezinsreconstructie gemeente Pamel 1622 - 1799, but the couple itself is mentioned once or twice.
Their son Paschasius (Passchier) married Joanna De Beer in Pamel in 1622. He died in Pamel Keer/Kwinkeleer October 22 1656. They probably had seven children.
The further line of De Vidts has been described before in posts such as "March 22 1743 ".

Remark : I most probably gave some erroneous information in this post. I leave it as an illustration of how easy it is to make mistakes in those early periods. A Joannes De Vidts died (was buried) in Pamel on June 23 1629. He may very well have been the Joannes who was born ca 1560, but then again maybe he was not. The Joannes who died in 1629 may have been a baby of a couple of days old, the third child of Passchier and Joanna, and thus a grandchild of the first Joannes.
Given the "conciseness" of the information supllied, all I "really know" is that a Joannes died on that day, and that the reputed genealogist who published the Gezinsreconstructie tends to believe that it was the grandchild, rather than the grandfather.

Paschasius De Vidts, born ca 1595, died in Pamel. He was the son of Joannes De Vidts (Pamel ca 1560 - 1629) and Catharina Lauwerijs. He married Joanna De Beer (Pamel ca 1598 - 1673).
Their son Judocus De Vidts liced in Pamel from 1627 to 1694. The link has been described in "August 16 1635".

De Vidts, Pamel
The earliest documented De Vidts in my family tree is Gheeraert De Vidts, who lived in the 16th century. Up to now, I know almost nothing about him.
His son Joannes was born around 1560 and died on June 23 1629. He married Catharina Lauwerijs and they had at least two children.
The De Vidts name (with all its variations) is one of the oldest in Pamel.
I have been more than fortunate to have the help of Mrs Rita Van Isveldt, author of the Familyreunion Pamel-Roosdaal site http://www.dreamer.dreamstation.com/ and of "Gezinsreconstructie gemeente Pamel 1792 -1900". In reality, all the data concerning my Pamel ancestors had already been prepared by her - I just had to copy them. Thanks again, Rita.
