Laurentius De Leeuw

Laurentius De Leeuw was buried in Okegem. He probably lived most - if not all - of his life in Impegem, now a hamlet of Liederkerke, which was part of the Okegem parish at that time. He was over eigthy years old when he died. He was a son of Guilielmus De Leeuw and Judoca Van den Waterloop and married twice.
In 1669 he married Adriana Van Ginderdeuren and they had three children :
-- Passchasia (Okegem 1669 - 1688) ;
-- Guilelmus, born in Okegem in 1671 and who married twice ;
-- Joanna (born in Okegem in 1674) and who died in 1751, ca 80 years old. She never married.
In 1680 Laurentius married Catharina Reybosch, who died in 1700. They had seven children.
-- Elisabeth, born in 1681 ;
-- another Elisabeth, born in 1682 ;
-- Maria, born in 1686. She lived to be married ;
-- Gaspard, born in 1689, who married in Pamel and sired an extensive family ;
-- Jacoba, born in 1697. Her husband died in 1769 ;
-- Adriana, born in 1700, who died in 1745 "ca sixty years old" ??. She was buried a pauper ( by the "armentafel"). Adriana and her half-sister Joanna, continued to live together in the family home in the Kouterbaan, at least for some time. In 1736 - 1745 they were supported by the "armentafel". We also know that Adriana's house was repaired by the poor in 1741 - 1742. In those same years she received clothing from the poor. There is no mention of Joanna then. It is slightly ironic that their father had been an administrator of the "poor's table".
-- Catharina, who died in Okegem in 1757, and who married Egidius Vernaillen in Iddergem in 1716. Egidius died in Okegem in 1759. They are among my ancestors.
In 1678, Elisabeth Guldemont had a natural son. She named Laurentius De Leeuw as the natural father.

Anna Van Stalle died in Impegem. She was married to Laurentius De Leeuw who died in Impegem in 1640. Both were buried in Okegem (Impegem depended from the Okegem parish).

They had three children : Laurentius De Leeuw (Impegem ca 1644 - 1728) was an ancestor of mine.

Willem Walravens died in St Pieters Leeuw, the cradle of the - to this day - very extended family. Guillam was an important man : in 1585 he rented three farms in Brukom. He married two or three times.
-- Fact : most of the following lines consists of the offspring of famous, generally well to do, farmer ("pachter") families in Flemish Brabant (the Pajottenland).
-- Fact : I descend from Willem Walravens in a couple of ways at least.
-- Fact : some of those lines are bluried, because I possess contradictory secondary sources.
Nicolaes Walravens (born ca 1570, died in Pamel 1642) was a son of Guillam and Joanna De Leeuw. He married Maria Eylenbosch.
Their son Nicolaus Walravens (Pamel ca 1610 - Gooik 1666) married Maria Evenepoel (born ca 1600, died in Gooik in 1671).
--- I descend from their daughter Anna (born in Meerbeke in 1636) who married Egidius Huylenbroeck. Thir son Adrianus Huylenbroeck (probably born in St Kwintens Lennik, died in Pamel in 1699) married Maria Schandevijl (Pamel 1655 - 1734).
They had a daughter Catharina Huylenbroeck (Pamel ca 1685 - 1751) who married Gasparus Van der Sleyen (Pamel ca 1685 - 1751).
We are in familiar territory here : see the post "January 22 1670" and many others.
--- I descend from their son or grandson Joannes Jacobus Walravens (born in Gooik in 1667). This is were various sources come in play, but the source listing him as their son has grown to have a "reputation" with me - I have found other errors and inconsistencies in other lines. And his date of birth too contradicts that hypothesis.

Catharina Reybosch, who lived in Impegem with her husband Laurentius De Leeuw (Impegem ca 1644 - 1728), died on that date.
She was the second spouse of Laurentius, with whom she had 7 children. Laurentius had an additional three children from his first marriage.
Catharina De Leeuw who died in Okegem in 1757, a daughter of Catharina and Laurentius, married Egidius Vernaillen (Denderleeuw 1691 - Okegem 1759), with whom she had five children.
Joanna Vernaillen (Okegem 1725 - Pamel 1791) was their fourth child. She had five children with Ferdinandus Van der Sleyen (Pamel 1724 - 1810) ; Michael was their middle child.
Michael Van der Sleyen (Pamel 1758 - 1827) was the father of six, of which Maria Elisabeth Van der Sleyen (Pamel 1811 - 1860) was the youngest. She married Joannes De Vidts (Pamel 1811 - 1881) which I have named a number of times before.

Laurentius De Leeuw died in Impegem on November 7 1640 and was buried the next day in Okegem. He married Anna Van Stalle who died in Impegem in 1663. They became "buitenpoorters" of Aalst in 1603 and had nine children.
Guillelmus (Impegem ca 1610 - 1677), one of their sons, was the father of another Laurentius (Impegem ca 1644 - 1728).
Catharina was a daughter of Laurentius : she died in 1757 and was the mother of Joanna Vernaillen (Impegem 1725 - 1791).

Maria De Leeuw died in Pamel. She was the spouse of Laurentius Stockmans.
Their son Petrus, who died in Pamel in 1729 had a daughter Petronella (Pamel 1698- 1768).
Petronella Stockmans was the mother of Joanna Maria Janssens (Pamel 1729 - 1790) whom we met before. See "October 12 1729".

In Okegem, De Leeuw Catharina died on that day. She was married to Egidius Vernaillen (Denderleeuw 1691 - Okegem 1759).
Their daughter Joanna Vernaillen (Okegem 1725 - 1791) was the mother of Michael Van der Sleyen (Pamel 1758 - 1827), who, in his turn, was the father of Maria Elisabeth Van der Sleyen. I just mentioned Maria Elisabeth in the previous post.

Egidius Vernaillen died in Okegem. He was born in Denderleeuw on September 17 1691 and married Catharina De Leeuw who died in Okegem in 1757.
Their daughter Joanna Vernaillen (Okegem 1725 - Pamel 1791) was the mother of Michael Van der Sleyen (Pamel 1758 - 1827).
Michael was the father of Maria Elisabeth Van der Sleyen (Pamel 1811 - 1860), the mother of my great-grandfather Felix De Vidts (Pamel 1853 - 1940).
