Judocus Van der Sleyen was born in Pamel, probably in the Gootjesstraat. He was a son of Adrianus Van der Sleyen who died in Pamel in 1691 and of Joanna De Troyer, deceased in Pamel in 1664.

In 1681 Judocus married Emerentia De Vleeshouwer. They had three children and lived in het Schuit in the Piezelstraat. Judocus died on December 23 1704 ; Emerentia followed in 1707.

Their second child was Gasparus Van der Sleyen (Pamel 1686 - 1749). He married Catharina Huylenbroeck (Pamel ca 1615 - 1751) : they had 8 children.
