Disgusting

... and unnecessary. On page 2 - 3 De Standaard publishes a big photo of six corpses neatly laid out in a row. A whole family which died in the Myanmar disaster and quite clearly a montage as we often see them for Middle East troubles. Fortunately they put it on page two so that one does not get it full in the face when one opens one's paper over breakfast.

No, I am not indifferent to the sufferings and the injustice in the world. But what is the use of that kind of pictures, except to satisfy a craving for unhealthly sensationalism ?

A long time ago, for similar photos, I have put the question to the paper but never got an answer. Clearly, I do not understand the first thing about journalistic ethics.
