Maria Elisabeth Van der Sleyen is born in Pamel, the last of seven children of Michael (Pamel 1758 - 1827) and Petronella Van Eeckhoudt (Pamel 1771 - 1828). She married Joannes De Vidts (Pamel 1811 - 1881). We have met that couple numerous times before. They had eight children.

Their third child Antonia (Pamel 1840 - Meerbeke) was the great-grandmother of my father Petrus Joannes Timmermans (Meerbeke 1913 - Gent 1980) ; their youngest son Felix (Pamel 1853 - 1940) was the grandfather of my mother, Margaretha Felicitas Neukermans (Okegem 1914 - Gent 2000).
