Quality TV

I'm still reading this weekend's paper and its multiple supplements. One of the articles in the paper itself made the stupefying remark that the multiplication, or should I say avalanche, of commercial TV channels and programs has resulted in better quality for the viewer.

Programs which mainly consist of mind numbing reality TV, of continual repeats of soap series, and of hour upon hour of so-called TV games "animated" by presentators and presentatrices who probably did not finish primary school, and who are not even nice to look at ? Better quality ?

VRT and BBC who are sliding down the slope of reality TV too. Better quality ?

And the cable distributor Telenet, which gives absolute priority to this kind of blubber channels to the detriment of BBC World, CNN, the French La Une, France Trois, TVE and other Arte's ...

Better quality ? Sheer commercial hogwash of the worst type, yes !
