Joannes Josephus Van Lierde is born in Pamel, a son to Gerardus Martinus (Idegem or Appelterre before 1723 - Pamel 1754) and his second wife Elisabeth Baveghems (Pamel 1723 - 1807).

In 1782, Joannes, a miller, married Maria Josina Covens (Pamel 1759 - 1827) and they had eleven children. Joannes was one of the last "meiseniers" (in 1784).

Maria Elisabeth Van Lierde (Pamel 1790 - 1838), their fifth child, married Joannes Franciscus De Vidts (Pamel 1784 - 1839) ; her younger sister Maria Theresia Van Lierde (Pamel 1791 -1875) married Judocus De Vidts (Pamel 1789 - 1869), a brother of Joannes Franciscus.

Maria Elisabeth and Joannes Franciscus, who both died relatively young, were the parents of Joannes De Vidts (Pamel 1811 - 1881) whom I named so often before.
