Utter stupidity

A 32 year old Belgian potential criminal has been arrested in a hotel room in Montreal where he had met his thirteen year old Canadian internet contact. They were planning to elope together or something.

The press coverage makes me want to puke. Nothing untoward had happened (yet) ; the girl was not too happy with the intervention of the police, and she considered the bloke "the love of her life".

The love of her life ? Thirteen years old ? Do journalists sometimes pause to reflect on what they are writing ?
