World aids day

What's the use of this kind of "remembrance" day, or washoumecalit ? How does it help the people suffering from that terrible disease ?

Do we wake up our governments ? No. Do we wake up the pharma industry ? No. Do we help in the fight against ignorance ? No. We think about it today and, having done our politically correct duty, we forget about it tomorrow.

So, what's the use ? Except that, for a couple of hours or even for a day, we feel good about our empty gesture ?
