Petronella Van Eeckhoudt was born in Pamel. Her parents were Augustinus Van Eeckhoudt (Pamel 1727 - 1775) and Joanna Maria Janssens (Pamel 1729 -1790).
Around 1805 Petronella married Michael Van der Sleyen (Pamel 1758 -1827). They had six children of which Maria Elisabeth Van der Sleyen (Pamel 1811 - 1860) was the youngest.
