Andreas Asselman died in Okegem where he had been born on March 5 1795. In 1818, he married Alexandrina Van der Speeten (Okegem 1795 - 1831). They had five children. After Alexandrina's death, Andreas remarried Elisabeth Van der Kelen (Pamel 1796 - Okegem 1864).

Catharina Asselman (Okegem 1823 - 1892) was the third child of Andreas and Alexandrina. In 1849, she married Amandus Neukermans (Okegem 1824 - 1857).
