Deus ex machina ?

Belgian newspaper websites announce that last night full agreement was reached on the coming reform of the Belgian federal state. Not a minute too early.

What about the contents ? I really don't care : the reform that will be put in place will be different from the present agreement anyway. What counts is that the stupid, but dangerous extremists on both side just might be stopped in their tracks for the time being.

Just let's hope that in a couple of hours, or in a few days, the announced agreement doesn't fall away in tatters again as it has happened so often in the last half year. Anyway, up to now, they never announced a "full agreement".

And isn't it remarkable that the agreement could be reached at a time when the main negotiator was in hospital, and had been for some time ?
