At long last - after a long struggle and very heavy opposition nearly to the end - on Tuesday the German parliament revoked the convictions of the last group of victims, those condemned as "war traitors," more than 60 years after the end of World War II.

Not one day too soon but let's not forget that the sentence "Right or wrong, my country" was not invented by the Germans.
