News

Whenever there is breaking news of any importance, the media (I am now thinking more specifically of the papers) try to spread out the news over several pages. The first day these pages are often repeats, holding incomplete or simply false information. If the news is important enough, it is gradually improved and corrected over the next few days. If not, al we get is the superficial first reactions and impressions.

Time is money you know. Correct and verified information ? Screw the customer !

And so called competition between the papers does not call for accuracy or relevance, but for added sensationalism and bigger (often posed) illustrations.

By repeats I mean that the same textual information is repeated on two or several pages of the same edition of the same paper.
