According to my paper, the Dutch banking association is trying to have the savings guarantee reduced from € 100.000 to € 50.000. The guarantee is said too be too expensive for the banks.
Those bright minds - look at their recent performances - even suggest that savers might take some kind of insurance on their savings.
On which planet do those people live ? They accept people's savings, lose it in their greedy capitalistic games, and are surprised when they are obliged to pay back at least part of the savings deposits ?
In other sectors, the recent behavior of some of those bankers might be qualified as embezzlement.
Savers should respond - as Jean Gabin did in one of his movies - : "Non ! Merde ! J'ai déjà donné".
