Exit a king maker ?

Now and again, there is good news too.

Karl Rove revealed that he will resign from the administration effective at the end of the month. Rove is the White House's deputy chief of staff and one of the most important advisors to the president of the USA. He is known as a highly intelligent man, but his reputation in America and abroad is not, ahum, unblemished.

Various sources relate that the apparently fiercely loyal Rove said about his boss : "This is one of the most intellectually gifted presidents we've had."
Who am I to contradict him ?
