Guatemala

According to Wikipedia - I did not take the time to consult other sources - Guatemala had an estimated population of 12.8 mio in July 2005.

The country is a hotbed for illegal adoptions, which brought it to the attention of our newspapers.

And I read that according to a Guatemalian source - or is it a printing error ? - the number of orphans and abandoned children in official orphanages and hostels is 3.0 million. I believe that most newspapers no longer can afford the services of proof readers.

Last week I made a bank transfer of 100 times the due amount. It has been corrected rapidly, thank you. It is reassuring to see that I am not the only one who has trouble counting. But I am an economist, aren't I ?
