Belgium and Congo

During a stay in Paris France, the Congolese president said he is waiting for a new Belgian government to look into the normalisation of relations between the two countries. In answer to a question, he added that he would prefer a new minister of foreign affairs too. Our present minister is one of the causes of the present tension. He rightly said some things the president did not want to hear.

I do not like our present minister of foreign affairs - if we still have one that is. I do not think he is a good minister ; he most certainly is not a good diplomat.

But after the intervention of the Congolese president, I hope our minister will remain in function for years and years to come.
