July 10 1663 (again)

Maria Beeckman died in Okegem where she had been baptized on May 19 1603. She was a daughter of Joannes and Francisca Waije. In 1622 she married Judocus Vernaillen, who died in Okegem in 1652. Witnesses for the marriage were Cornelius Beeckman, bailiff, and Petrus De Wenne, mayor.

Judocus became sexton - schoolteacher after his brother Adriaan's death in 1647. He maintained the watch in the churchtower and was an alderman in Okegem in 1644 and 1647.

They had eight children, two of which became "buitenpoorters" of Aalst. Various documents concerning this household have survived.
