April 20 1627

Judocus De Vidts was born in Pamel, where he died on July 5 1694. He was the second of probably seven children of Paschasius De Vidts (Pamel ca 1595 - 1656) and Joanna De Beer (ca 1598 - Pamel 1673). He became a meisenier in 1669 and lived on the Kwinkeleer.

Judocus married Maria Van der Kelen in 1650, and they had 10 children, of whom about one in three died young. Petrus De Vidts (Pamel 1655 - 1726) was number four and a meisenier like his father. He was an alderman (schepen) of Pamel.

Petrus married twice and had three children with his first spouse (twice a widow) and three with his second wife Catharina Van Nieuwenhove (Pamel 1663 - 1743).

His youngest child was Judocus (Pamel 1703 - 1750) who was the first husband of Catharina Theresia Van Cauwelaert "pachteres" (Pamel 1729 - 1805). They had two children, but Catharina had another thirteen kids with her second husband, Joannes Josephus Kestens (Pamel 1719 - 1778). Judocus too was a meisenier.

The further line has been described a couple of times before. Joannes De Vidts (Pamel 1811 - 1881), my great-great-grandfather on my moher's side and my great-great-great-grandfather on my father's side was the great-great-grandson of that Judocus.
