Ferdinandus Van der Sleyen was born in Pamel, the sixth of eight children of Gasparus (Pamel 1686 - 1749) and Catharina Huylenbroeck (Pamel ca 1685 - 1751).

In 1751 Ferdinandus married Joanna Vernaillen (Impegem 1725 - Pamel 1791). They had five children and Ferdinandus died on January 30 1810.

Their third child was Michael (Pamel 1758 - 1827) who married Petronella Van Eeckhoudt (Pamel 1771 - 1828), a neighbour.

Their daughter Maria Elisabeth Van der Sleyen (Pamel 1811 - 1860) married Joannes De Vidts, named in the previous post and oftentimes before.
