Seventy years ago Germany invaded Belgium in 1940. Let's never forget that members of an apparently super-civilised and technically advanced nation can turn into a collection of savage beasts - with my apologies to all other savage beasts - in almost less time than is needed to write it down.

Forgetting this would be a crime. Forgiving is almost beyond human means ; it certainly is beyond mine. Sixty million dead and uncountable other victims should not be betrayed.
