A terrible thought

The excesses of multiculturalism and political correctness are unavoidable side effects of globalisation and of the free market system. Nothing may stand in the way of profit maximisation, most certainly not convictions and principles.

The excesses of multiculturalism and political correctness also follow from the "leftist" resistance against free markets and globalisation. Nothing may stand in the way of tactics which can help to blow up that inequitable and terribly unjust system.

We do not need those excesses, either on the right or on the left. What we need is tolerance, mutual understanding and respect. That does not mean that we sell our own culture, principles and convictions for the sake of commerce en greed. Or for the sake of an ideological fight, however justified.

"We" are not better than the "others" - neither are they better than us, although quite often they appear to think so. ... Understanding, yes ; cooperation : yes, if possible. But no surrender !
