On that day, Joanna Catharine Van de Perre was born in Okegem as the fifth of seven children and the third daughter of Joannes Van de Perre (Okegem 1801 - 1875) and Maria Elisabeth Borremans (Strijtem ca 1798 - Okegem 1866).

In 1858, Joanna Catherina married Karel Bernardus Broeckaert (Wetteren 1832 - Okegem 1928). They had twelve children, including my great-great-grandmother Clementina (Clementia) Broeckaert (Okegem 1858 - 1939). She was their eldest child.

Clementia herself had five children with Amandus Neukermans (Okegem 1824 - 1857) and my great-grandfather Hermilianus Neukermans (Okegem 1855 - 1932) was their fourth child.
