On that day, Petrus Joannes De Vidts, aged 43, died at Pamel, where he had been born on September 19 1749. Around 1776, he married Carolina Van der Straeten (Ternat ca 1753 - Pamel 1801). They had ten children. Their sixth child and second son was Joannes Franciscus De Vidts (Pamel 1784 - 1839) who married Maria Elisabeth Van Lierde (Pamel 1790- 1838). They had eight children, the second of which was Joannes De Vidts (Pamel 1811 - 1881) who became the father of my great-grandfather Felix De Vidts (Pamel 1853 - 1940).
