July 22 1860

On July 22 1860 my great-great-grandmother Maria Elisabeth Van der Sleyen passed away at Pamel. She did not live to old age as she had been born at Pamel on May 9 1811. She came from a family with six children, three boys and three girls, and, in 1834, married Joannes De Vidts (Pamel 1811 - 1881) who probably followed her to the Koeistraat where her ancestors had lived for some time.

Maria Elisabeth and Joannes had eight children, one of which was stillborn, and another died very young.

On my father's side I descend from their second daughter Antonia ;
