In (one of) the worst economic, social and institutional crises ever, our esteemed lords politicians appear unable to shove aside their own petty personal and party interests to work for the common good. Nothing to be surprised about really, just business as usual.
Belgium does not need a strong government - strong governments are an exception in this country - but we need the external perception of a strong government ; strong enough so that social, economic, financial and political pirates and buccaneers do think twice before they launch another attack on or feeble institutional and financial structures.
But our politicians continue their familiar games. We will commemorate their heroism and sense of sacrifice on election day, whenever that comes.
