The melting is undeniable but has been going on for decades, long before the catastrophic results of global warming became an evangelically fashionable creed.

Is there a relation from cause to effect between global warming and the melting of the ice ? On the basis of the data in the graph, I would tend to doubt it ; there may be other, secular, trends at work.
