Renerius Van Tricht died in Pamel. He had been born ca 1590. He is one of the figures for which I have very confusing data, including the name of his spouse(s).

His son Judocus lived in Pamel from 1627 to 1678. His mother was either Maria Felix or Margriet Gilleijns, named Gillisjans. According to one of my sources his brother Gillis was the father of the family branch in Lennik, and another brother Jan started the branch in Strijtem.

Adrianus (Pamel 1660 - 1722), a son of Judocus, was the father of Carolus (Pamel 1696 - 1775).
Adrianus became a meisenier in 1700, Carolus in 1751.

Carolus was the father of Catharina Suzanna (Pamel 1725 - 1799), the mother of Elisabeth Sterckx (Pamel 1754 - Okegem 1799) who married Josephus bijgenaamd Judocus Neukermans (Okegem 1736 - 1814).

They had seven children : my great-great-grandfather Amandus (Okegem 1824 - 1857) was the fifth.

I still wonder where the name Amandus came from (I haven't seen the baptismal records for nineteenth century Okegem, but I know of no one else in the family at that time with that name - and if Amandus appears "strange", what about the name of his son Hermilianus, my great-grandfather ?

De familie Van Tricht zou in de streek opgedoken zijn na de godsdiensttroebelen van de 16e eeuw - uit Maastricht ? Utrecht ? of zelfs Atrecht ?
De oudste vermeldingen van de familienaam op Geneanet komen uit Nederland.

Renerius is zeer waarschijnlijk geen voorvader.

Een post over dit probleem zal gepubliceerd worden in de eerstkomende dagen.
