Regina Menschaert died in Nederhasselt, where she had been born ca 1799. She married Franciscus Meganck (Nederhasselt ca 1798 - 1869). I still have to look up their children but one : Virginia Meganck (Nederhasselt 1834 - 1917), my great-great-grandmother.

Virginia married Petrus Josephus Goessens (Nederhasselt 1836 - 1928). They had eight children, three of which were born before they eventually married. A distant relative of mine, who also is a descendant of Petrus Josephus and Virginia, is trying to clarify the mysteries surrounding this couple : why did they marry so late ? Was there an important social "chasm" between the spouses ? Why was their oldest daughter born in Brussels ?

Their eldest daughter Maria Elisabeth Goessens (Brussels 1862 - Meerbeke 1834) married Josephus Timmermans (Meerbeke 1858 - 1928). They were my great-grandparents. I wrote about them on various occasions : see "March 8 1862" and others.
