The vocal leader of a smallish Flemish party - which is striving for independence, and which is one of the main causes of the year long stalemate in Belgian politics - has been caught with his pants down.

Last weekend, he was asked to list the six "communes à facilités" in the Brussels region : he could name only four of them. That same weekend, the names were prominently displayed in most of the papers yet again.

Those Flemich municipalities, with facilities for French speakers, are among the main stumblestones on the way to the elusive pacification of Belgian politics.
